I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Racing, Arcade, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Forza Horizon 5 knows what it wants to be. The pitch — The most gorgeous open-world racing festival around. — is delivered without too much filler. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Easy recommend at full price.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. If Racing, Arcade, Multiplayer is your thing, Forza Horizon 5 delivers it without much filler. On paper it is The most gorgeous open-world racing festival around., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Easy recommend at full price.

This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Forza Horizon 5 leans hard into Racing, Arcade, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (The most gorgeous open-world racing festival around.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. Worth it, especially on sale.
