Blitzkrieg 3 is a game that, quite simply, cannot be played anymore
Blitzkrieg 3 is a game that, quite simply, cannot be played anymore. I bought the full Blitzkrieg package with the intention of trying all three games. I discovered this franchise late, and I was genuinely curious to experience what it had to offer. The problem? Blitzkrieg 3 was built around online infrastructure that no longer exists. The servers were shut down. The game was abandoned. And yet, it is still being sold on Steam. You launch the game and realize that you cannot properly play it. The core functionality depends on online services that are no longer supported. What remains is essentially a broken shell of what used to be a strategy title. Looking at the Steam reviews, most of the feedback dates back to 2018 and 2025. After that, nothing meaningful. Recent comments mostly confirm the same reality: the game has been completely abandoned. This is not about balance, gameplay mechanics, graphics, or RTS depth. This is about accessibility. A game that cannot be played should not be sold in its current state without clear warnings. It’s unfortunate, because visually and conceptually the game seemed interesting. I genuinely wanted to try it. But when a developer shuts down core services and leaves the product available for purchase without proper support, that’s negligence. Frustrating more than fun
It's a fun game but, the fact that one day the "required" online server that runs the game will go offline, and you will lose access to a game that you paid for, is unacceptable and should not be financially supported. As predicted, the game no longer works. Yet, they still are selling it. :(

The developer abandoned in 2023
The developer abandoned in 2023. Their final patch was supposed to allow you to play offline after their servers were shut down, but it didn't work. The game does not register that you have completed a mission after the tutorial. Missions unlock when you complete other missions. Do you see the problem here? You cannot progress. If you are looking to buy this game, do not. Steam should pull this game from the store in my opinion.
