The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Side Quests
Side quests in The Witcher 3 are optional missions that expand the world of Velen, Novigrad, the Skellige Isles and Toussaint. Unlike main quests they are not required to finish the story, but many of them hide some of the best gear, Gwent cards and story moments in the game. This page lists every side quest by region and notes the ones that are easy to miss.
Velen Side Quests
Velen is the war-torn starting region. Many of its side quests only appear on the notice board outside the Inn at the Crossroads, or by talking to villagers marked with a yellow exclamation mark.
- Missing in Action - Find the missing brother in the woods north of the Crossroads.
- Precious Cargo - Escort a cart through a field of corpse-eating scavengers.
- Twisted Firestarter - Investigate a burned-down barn and the mage hiding nearby.
Novigrad and Skellige Side Quests
Novigrad hides several quests behind closed doors in its sewers and temples, while the Skellige Isles reward exploration with some of the strongest early Witcher diagrams.
- Get Junior - Track down gang boss Junior with the help of Sigismund Dijkstra.
- Stranger in a Strange Land - Help a druid locate his missing apprentice on Hindarsfjall.
- King's Gambit - Unravel the plot against the king of the Skellige Isles.
Blood and Wine Side Quests
Toussaint adds a set of chivalric side quests in the expansion. Several are only unlocked after completing the main quest Beyond Hill and Dale.
- Everywhich Way and Each - Win the Beauclair horse race against a field of rivals.
- Big Feet to Fill - Track a mysterious giant through the vineyards of Toussaint.
