Not a bad game, but minus the graphics, everything else is noticeably inferior compared to Tropico 4

Not a bad game, but minus the graphics, everything else is noticeably inferior compared to Tropico 4. This is despite having bought all the DLCs. I'd recommend buying 4 instead of this one. Tropico, as a city builder, is far too simplistic and heavily constrained in terms of space, due to the setting being on an island. Plus, often towards the end game, it gets very easy to rack up too much money and not have anything much left to do. However, as a single player campaign game, Tropico is great. So, its value, in my opinion, depends heavily on its story, humour, and voice acting. That said, the story, humour, the voice acting, and the overall single player campaign is far superior in Tropico 4. In that game, the character portraits and the voice acting had enough clues and character in them to be immediately understand what or who they represented. And what they said was actually funny and enjoyable. In 5, it isn't the case. Spare the communist faction, when someone pops up in the story for the first time, it had me wondering who they were and where they'd fit in terms of the story line. Plus that, the jokes aren't as funny as 4, the voice acting isn't as good as 4, and so on. Again, this isn't a bad game, but the previous game was far better than this. This one is rather mediocre. I guess I must say I cannot recommend this one, since I must recommend you to buy Tropico 4 instead.

Great ideas, rough execution

Good fun but suffers from the curse of endless overpriced DLCs, (you're charging me that much for one building? really?) also lacking in content compared to older titles, lack of detail in almanac leads to infuriating situations (everybody loves me yet rebels are shooting up my city being one example).
