This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. It Takes Two wears its Co-op, Puzzle, Adventure influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is The co-op adventure that reinvents itself every hour., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.

I bounced off it twice before finally giving up. It Takes Two promises a lot with its Co-op, Puzzle, Adventure setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. What it promises (The co-op adventure that reinvents itself every hour.) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. Too many systems are introduced and then abandoned. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Try before you buy.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. It Takes Two leans hard into Co-op, Puzzle, Adventure, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is The co-op adventure that reinvents itself every hour., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
