Exactly what I hoped for
It's too long, wastes my time religiously, combat is repetitive, some of the dialouge is cliche and wooden even considering this is a JRPG. Rean annoys me rather consistently with his ability to make every bad thing that happens his own personal fault. Yet I sunk 97 hours into it and bought the other 3 games in the series as soon as I finished. I don't know why I like this series. 9/10 would reccomend.

One of my best buys this year
As a long time fan of JRPGs, ranging from the Final Fantasy series to the Hyperdimension and Tales series, this is seriously one of the hands-down best JRPG's I've ever played that I had never known about until it came up on my recommended list. Every character is compelling, the dialogue isn't cringy (literally, some of the conversations actually seem, for lack of better terms, realistic, logical, and cohesive to the narrative), the story is phenomenal, albeit slow at first, and the gameplay from the Shin Megami-light leasure time to the deep and gripping combat system. Seriously, if you are a JRPG fan, do NOT let this series pass you by. Buy it now.
