I'm glad this game exists on Steam so I can play it again, just like all those years ago on the GameCube

I'm glad this game exists on Steam so I can play it again, just like all those years ago on the GameCube. This game means a lot to me personally, and to a lot of people. But I'll say this... There's already not a lot of Tales Of games on Steam. Symphonia, sure. Vesperia, absolutely. Zestiria, Berseria, Arise- Makes sense. Tales of Hearts R should not dead and gone on the Vita. Tales of Graces F, Tales of Xillia, and Tales of Xillia 2 shouldn't be lost forever in PS3 hell. Tales of the Abyss shouldn't be confined to the now-defunct Nintendo 3DS, or PS2. Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave has a lot going for it and deserves a port of its own. Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 1,2, and 3 are FAR too good to be forgotten and ignored. Divisive as it is, I don't care; Dawn of the New World touched me in so many personal ways that I have a deeper connection to it than any other game I've played in the series. If even for me and me alone, I can't stand that game being lost to the Wii/PS3. Please. PLEASE. Do not let these games die on the platforms they were released/re-released on when there's an entire audience missing these games, or not knowing they exist. It's cool that Symphonia is getting a second re-release, but... Please bring these games to Steam. Please.

This isn't actually a bad game ...if you play the GameCube version

This isn't actually a bad game ...if you play the GameCube version. Seriously, it is just lazy and unacceptable that we are 20 years out from the GameCube version and still can't get a decent port or remake of it. For those not aware, this is based off of the PS2 version that came out after the original GameCube version which runs at 30 FPS in addition to introducing other issues such as screen space constraints causing whole lines of dialogue to be lost. And some of these are even pretty important such as the explanation, early in the game, of why the female lead has to do what it is that she is doing. This just gets glossed over because, too many words for the text space available. There are also some other odd effects and graphical oddities that are introduced because of this version's source material. The game itself is a great game, one of the best Tales games, and also one of the best action RPGs that in my opinion outshines more recent entries in the series. However, it is just a shame that it got such a shoddy port. At least it isn't the Nintendo Switch port which is a real abomination that shouldn't have even been released in the shape that it was released. So if you really want to play this I'd suggest tracking down a Wii or GameCube and picking up the GameCube version and playing it on that. It isn't all that expensive even all these years later. But if you really must play it this way it isn't awful, just be aware that it could be a lot better, hence the negative review of what is actually one of my favorite JRPGs. Shame on you Bandai Namco.

The official release of this port was a real mess

The official release of this port was a real mess. Thankfully, Bamco Namdai fixed most of the issues that plagued this game. As it is now, there's no slowdown & no more VMPROTECT and it works like charm on Windows 7. but they could have made it a little more clear to where you are supposed to be going or what you should do. but I can say, that i do recommend this title! Bamco Namdai, Please give PC Gamers more Tales of Games! It Still Stands the Test of Time!
