I really enjoyed my time with Steelrising. However the game isn't without its flaws. Detailed notes below for those considering buying the game who have a few minutes to spare. Tips if you're going to buy Steelrising whatever I say
I recommend this game if you meet the following requirements: -You have already bought and played all the mainline FromSoft Souls games. If not buy those. -You have already played, soulslike B titles like The Surge, Lords of the Fallen, Remnant and the upcoming Lies of P -You enjoyed those games and were not too bothered by the B quality -You have jank tolerance and can handle lack of polish and a smaller scale gameplay depth than real souls games -You have spare cash and want to play a new soulslike game -You can handle last gen graphics unless you have a top tier pc with 15+ GB of VRAM to put the textures above medium If all those requirements are met, you can get a pretty enjoyable 10-20 hours out of the game. On one hand I want to recommend the game even at it's full pricepoint because the foundation is solid and the gameplay is great. On the other hand the unacceptable performance lazyness and lack of polish makes me spite the devs and publisher and recommend you get the game as cheap as you possibly can.
On the surface, Lies Of P and Steelrising look very similar, so let me clear it up for you. It's pretty simple. Lies Of P is about a fantasy Italian robo-twink saving a fantasy France. Steelrising is about a fantasy French robo-tomboy saving a fantasy France.
