Songs for a Hero is a quirky musical & 2D platformer developed by Brazilian developers, Dumativa Game Studio

Songs for a Hero is a quirky musical & 2D platformer developed by Brazilian developers, Dumativa Game Studio. It was released in the developers’ native language of Portuguese, but is now fully updated for a more International audience with English voice-overs and subtitles. It is overflowing with creativity and an absolute blast to play, with plenty of replayability, all DLC’s included upon purchasing the game, and with a fair price of $AU22.95, I highly recommend it. Pros Humorous musical narration that adapts to player actions Light-hearted fun Immense replayability All DLC’s included (extra campaigns/skins) Plethora of differing bosses & enemy types. Cons Inability to skip boss cut-scenes after dying Story

I really recommend this game!

I really recommend this game! The idea behind the game is really good. The dinamic vocal singing what happens in the game is something that makes the game much more interesting. Also, the funny lyrics and the nice melody make the soundtrack perfect. And so is the gameplay. It reminds a lot some classic games from the past. The controls are good, they aren't complicated at all. The game is challenging and fun to play, you can expect many hours playing and singing along with the Hero in his journey to save the princess 10/10, would die for a stone thrown by a monkey again

Oh wow, this game

Oh wow, this game. Needles to say it's a fun as hell little platformer that doubles as sorta of a musical where the narrator sings about your adventure as you progress through the game. So it's like having an invisible bard follow you around. True it's not in English so you don't get to understand the lyrics but that in no way is a hinderance on the game itself. In fact you don't even need to know the language to play the game since it does a fine job explaining what buttons do what in the beginning. The graphics are pretty good and the art style fits each stage fairly well. from the greenery of the forest to the cool lighting effects going on in the caves. The music is probably the best part of this thing. Each level has a song tailored just for it with lyrics to boot and they fit the atmosphere perfectly for wherever it plays. Heck it even changes as you progress through the stage to reflect the mood of whatever area you are in. I guess my only complaint when it comes to the music is that the boss battles don't have accompanying lyrics like the rest of the level. One thing I guess I could reccomend is just having english subititles if at all possible. The singers are fine and I can fully get behind having the songs sung in brazilian portuguese. The english subitles would at least allow for an understanding of the lyrics since I understand they are supposed to be funny and would love to see what they are. All in all this is a solid little platformer and I would definately reccomend.
