It's excellent
It's excellent. I was sceptical initially, seeing how the first two games were decent, but nothing special, really. But this is a whole new level. A lot of content, a lot of detail. It feels expansive in a way classic RPGs could feel expansive. Writing is top notch, almost unexpectedly so. I haven't seen much of the story so far, but the world, character backstories and development, even banter - all this is a couple of levels above your usual RPG stuff. Subtle, mature, superbly written. Took three games, but the new Shadorwun has finally come into itself. This will be a classic.

Kind of astounded half of the negative reviews missed the point of a Shadowrun game. To much dialogue? Having to think up your character's backstory through in game dialogue choices? This is what annoys you about a text heavy RPG series? Really? Reeeally? Good luck with that mate.

This is a masterpiece
This is a masterpiece. Over 100 playthroughs in over 1500 hours says it all. I've tried every class, won as every class. Every game remains different to this day. There are so many variables that the game never gets boring, and you can still, after over 1000 hours at it, find ways to switch things up and play it a different way. IMHO this the absolute pinnacle of gaming. I don't need swanky 3D graphics or ten million weapons combinations to kill the same guy. What I love is replay value and depth, and no game past or present comes close to Shadowrun Hong Kong for that... and the DLC (particularly the Caldecott Caper) is phenomenal too. No words for how much I love this game.
