About Session: Skate Sim

EDITIONS. . . Roadmap. . . About the Game. . . . . . . With the dual stick controls, each stick represents one of your feet. You will need to learn how to control them and transfer weight, just like on a real skateboard. The physics have been developed with a focus on realism, smoothness and immersion. Just like in real life for a new skateboarder, the first hours can seem challenging, but once you have mastered the technique, you will feel the unrivalled thrill of pulling off your very first kickflip! Session: Skate Sim also includes full options customisation, so you can enjoy the perfect experience tailored to you. A full tutorial provides all the help you need to get started, and you can choose from four difficulty levels! . . . . Inspired by the golden age of street skating – the 1990s – Session: Skate Sim lets you experience true skateboarding and its culture: no scoring system; just you, your spot and your imagination! There's no need for judges to tell you that your noseslide or varial heelflip are perfect for this spot. And because certain locations are iconic, the developers have added several of them to the game for you to skate in and express your creativity, including

I backed this game when it first launched on Kickstarter and have been playing it since the last DLC dropped. As others have said, the game is long dead, and all the developers care about now is silencing anyone and everyone who says anything about it. Their Discord was nuked a while back and the only update in who knows how long was just to remove a deck, for "legal reasons." The last bit of hope I had for it coming out of the clunky state is has been in, since, well, that first Kickstarter demo, was them saying they were working on moving the game to UE5. Ok, no real updates, but makes sense with engine migration, right? Nope! They abandoned that. Grabs? Abandoned. Anything beyond just basic street skating? Abandoned. Lip tricks? Well, they claim to have them, but it honestly feels more like someone accidentally did a powerslide at the top of a ramp, and they just called it a lip trick. Just today they released a new video on YouTube. I was hoping for some sort of update, but nope, just a "replay editor tutorial." Comments are disabled, naturally. That was the last straw for me. I'm finally giving up the last tiny shred of hope I had for this game. Year Later Update

Frustrating more than fun

Never written a review, but felt slighted by creature Studios and gaming companies in general these days who constantly push the boundaries to see how much they can get away with when selling their product. In general, Session is a very solid foundation, but is clearly not a finished game. Many of the animations are still very wonky, there are quite a few bugs, and many of the features are listed as experimental or simply unfinished, like the story mode. The worst of it though, is that out of all the maps in the game, only 2 (two) are skateparks. One is passably decent (LES), the other (FDR) is 90% transition (which is borderline unusable because transition tricks and physics are in early stages of development btw) and 10% is literally a trash dump DIY park with a handful of basic obstacles. Conveniently though, for the price of $15, you can buy DLC that has two extensive, pristine skateparks that were originally in the early versions of the game but were then taken out to be repackaged and sold to you as extra content on top of the full price you paid. DLC has no place in a freshly released game, let alone one that is knowingly released unfinished. It's wrong.

Frustrating more than fun

Today's update ruined the camera and removed 60+ FPS options from PC, which I've played with for 5 years and have gotten accustomed to the physics/catch timing tied to it. Ya lost me
