Still thinking about it
This game is absolutely gorgeous and the thought of incorporating the concept of the "third eye" is truly clever. I love the bunny mascot! So cute and chubby chubby.

Better than expected
9/10 I have been a fan of Shiying Studio since their first game Tales of the Black Forest. And of course I also have played Firework. Sanfu is their 3rd game. The storyline of Sanfu is even more avant-garde than that of Firework. It always unfolds in an unpredictable way, I totally got impressed. And the visual design of Sanfu has been improved a lot from Firework. It definitely surpassed the previous games. But those artworks hugely relies on Chinese characters, I am Japanese and fortunately I do understand Chinese as well, but I doubt if non-Chinese speakers could enjoy them as much as I do. Probably thats why this game has no English version yet. As a horror game, Sanfu is not as good as Firework. The former tends to show killing scenes in an explicit way, those explicit killings considerably weakened the vibes of the unknown horror. I am okay with that, though.

Easy recommendation
This was a fantastic game, and I'm so glad I took the effort to find a way to play it despite it being entirely in Chinese (I posted a discussion about how I did so using a combination of a translation software and a chinese playthrough of the game). The story and characters are wonderfully done, and this was a thriller that had me on the edge of my seat most of the time. I think the detractors do not understand how the point of contension can be used to tell an even more compelling story. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience, I cannot recommend it enough!
