I really wanted to like this game
I really wanted to like this game. But the AI is horrendous. You don't fail in this game by lack of strategy, supplies or natural disasters. You die from the AI refusing to do anything. There is no way to force someone to do a task. You can set a high priority on something, but that just means that they might eventually get around to doing it. O2 generator broke? well give them a few days and then they will consider fixing the vital piece of equipment set to high priority with the repair supplies sitting next to it. yep, any day now they will get it up an running again..... any day now..........

Losing your Colony is down to you, the player - Don't come up with excuses, you just mis-managed it
Losing your Colony is down to you, the player - Don't come up with excuses, you just mis-managed it. I can take any of the 4 main scenarios beyond 600 colonists - yes 600 of the little blighters. it does take time though and it might mean the odd restart if you're just beginning... Complaints I've read: #1. a specific colonist type "stops working" - Answer: usually, just adjust your manufacturing limits. #2. The land can't be deformed - Yes it can - not to any major degree, but it can be in some areas - again it just takes some patience and THOUGHT.. #3. This fun one - Enemy Visitors - If you build your landing pad far enough away from an airlock, you'll have time to shut it down and set off the alarm siren to get everyone in Except the enemy who will eventually die from asphyxiation. Juggle the airlocks if you have to - you might occasionally lose a colonist, but hey, you're not on Earth are you?? I'm much older (68) than most who play this game and I can say , generally, the trickiest times I've had is on some of the workshop challenges. It is a fun game. EDIT:- It is now 6 years on from my review and I'm playing it again for the umpteenth time.. Nothing has changed my opinion....
