About Phoenix Point

Phoenix Point is the acclaimed strategy game from the creator of X-COM, now with Steam Workshop support! The Earth has been overrun. A mutating, alien menace threatens the last remnants of mankind. Only the Phoenix Project, a secret organization of the best minds and bravest soldiers left on earth, can repel the invasion and reverse the inevitable. The Phoenix Project looks to you for leadership. Research and develop new technologies, explore a ravaged globe, build your bases, manage resources, and dominate the battlefield. Just remember: you're not alone out there. Factions, including the corporatist New Jericho, the indecisive Synedrion, and the fanatical Disciples of Anu, as well as a variety of offshoot subfactions, have their own values, goals, and view of the Pandorans. Work with these factions via Phoenix Point's diplomacy system, use subterfuge to steal what you need from them, or simply crush all around you with military might. No matter what you choose, victory won't be easy. Phoenix Point Features: Tons of Content: Over two years of updates, upgrades, fixes, and new content suggested by our community, including Steam Workshop support for subscribing and enabling mods

Okay, no

Okay, no. First thing you see as you start up the game is a sketchy EULA agreement that you HAVE to agree to in order to play. It explicitly states that they will collect your private information and are not subject to your nations privacy laws. It also states that they will be giving your information to 3rd party marketing businesses to target ads to you based off of your BROWSER data that they will be mining. Not to mention password collection/etc. If you click that you disagree with this, the game exits out. Not the type of game I was looking to purchase. I hope they clean that part up.

Edit 2026

Edit 2026. The game save bug STILL exists. #### these devs. Edit 2024. The game save bug STILL exists. Edit 2023. The game save bug STILL exists. Edit 6/28/22 Original review below stands. This game is a do not buy. The developers and support eventually responded to my ticket with essentially the same response. Delete your game and start over. They did not provide any sort of fix to prevent this problem from happening again, And it did happen again 20 hours later. Its 2022 Save game as a basic function has existed in this industry since 1980 with kings quest. And while some games have had save corruption issues at times those games were patched and the problem corrected. This game however has been out for two years. I would encourage anyone who has bought this game within the return period to return it immediately. ---Original review--- I was totally on board with this game for about 40 hours. And then it happened. "Can't save game please check that you have enough memory" (Well out of the 64 gig 32 is free so I sure hope that's enough) Maybe they meant disk space? nope 500 gig free there. Ok lets put in a support ticket. And while we're waiting on a response lets give 'r a quick google round the interwebs to see if anyone else has hat this problem.... oh its been a problem since 2020. "Re install game, delete all your save files, this will fix it temporarily........." This... does not bode well. After several hours digging for a solution I couldn't find one on my own. The official forums were no help, and support will likely not answer my ticket till monday at the earliest. Currently this is a DONT BUY If your game has been out over a year and you can't get something basic like a save function to work. You shouldn't be in this business.
