Peggle, I would argue, is one of the highest-placing contenders for the greatest game of all time
Peggle, I would argue, is one of the highest-placing contenders for the greatest game of all time. Not because of its enriching story or whatever, but simply because it succeeds with flying colors on the one thing it sets out to do: be a fun, entertaining, casual video game. It combines RNG and luck with strategy in a way that is easy for anyone in the world to pick up and play, but is insanely difficult to master outright. It has a boatload of content featuring 100+ levels and that's just for this game. Despite the games 20-year-old age, what saves its low-quality graphics is Peggle's spectacular art design. It's weird, it's esoteric, but it's also calming. Combined with its infinitely satisfying sound effects and music, makes for an experience that gives you the perfect amount of dopamine when Ode to Joy plays after every level, or when you get a huge combo and the sound that plays when you hit a peg begins to increase on a chromatic scale. The game is never too hand-holdy. It gives you powerups that are unique to every Peggle Master, but they are not required to complete every level. The gameplay is simple enough for the game to not have to explain every little bit to you, but the difficulty ramps up near the end of the game, and especially in the challenge levels. The gameplay is perfect, there's not a note to be given. The physics are sometimes your friend, but sometimes your enemy. They're a slippery slope that requires you to think about trajectories, angles, and how to use the engine to your advantage. Every person on Earth should at least have played one level of Peggle. Because at the end of the day, it's an exquisitely crafted masterpiece that deserves all the praise it gets.

Sometimes a game becomes more than a game, but rather a way of life. This is the case for Peggle Deluxe, when I came to peggle academy, I expected nothing more than a trip down nostalgia lane for a game that I remembered fondly from my XBOX 360 days. I couldn't have known that this game would become an entire lifestyle. If you want a way to pass the time, you'll find it here, but this game about shooting balls at pegs as a unicorn is NOT a cozy game, you'll toil away for seemingly endless amounts of time trying to perfect your peggle abilities, and not everyone has what it takes to become an EXTREME GRAND MASTER OF PEGGLE. But if you start, you simply will not be able to go back. the journey is long and arduous but the payout is a certain amount of clarity I once only dreamed of. Life is Peggle

Oh Peggle, where shall I start
Oh Peggle, where shall I start.... at first, I was hating on this game, judging my friends for playing this game. Saying "why would I purchase this game when I can find a game exactly like this on my phone for free?" I then proceeded to lose a bet and had to begrudgingly purchase this game. After fully playing this game, and reaching the end... I now have been enlightened on how Peggle is. This masterpiece of a game has such an amazing story, and is so very calming after a long day. Who knew bouncing a ball off of a bunch of pegs would be such an amazing game. Honestly, I think I would purchase this game for 20 dollars if Peggle would come out with a new game. If you are looking at buying this game, get it. PEGGLE IS PEAK.
