As someone that didn't click with Octopath I, I'm extremely surprised with how II has swept me away. Music? God-tier. Art direction? God-tier. Combat? Extremely engaging. Writing? Thoughtful, witty, and sharp. The points I took issue with in the first game have been polished away, leaving a JRPG I have absolutely loved since the demo, and even going through the opening hours of new characters has only strengthened the joy I'm getting from this title. This is a game that deserves to succeed.
You pay $60 to get a banger soundtrack and it also comes with a really good RPG that teaches life lessons like if you are pretty and can shake your hips a little you can basically enslave an entire town to go to war for you **EDIT: COMPLETED MAIN STORY AT 70 HOURS - Lots of side quests left to do, items to collect** One of the best RPGs I've ever played in a very long time. If you played the first Octopath, this is a step up in pretty much every way... and if you haven't, you don't need to play the first to understand the story of this one.
