Legit a good game, highly recommend it
Legit a good game, highly recommend it. HOWEVER... (minor spoilers only insofar as game mechanics) There's two ways that this story ends, one of them requiring two keys to unlock the "true" route. And, to be completely honest, I find it to be the weaker of the endings and a little more contrived. The default ending feels more authentic, but that's just me.

can't recommend this enough for fans of flow charts, logic puzzles, very procedural and archival mystery games
can't recommend this enough for fans of flow charts, logic puzzles, very procedural and archival mystery games. the mystery is handled rly well and progression is sort of perfect for the scope of the game, great like "spend a small part of your morning off on it" type game. there's a schmaltziness here that i think somi's legal dungeon avoided--by having that little bit of satirical bite the premise of the mystery genre and the tropes and cultural context of it were challenged more. this is more linear in conclusion if not in actual gameplay, and it has a kind heartedness to it that i can see some people really clicking with and others brushing against. that aside though its otherwise uniformly well considered and constructed.

Hard to put down
It's not bad but the people praising this game as "making you feel like a true detective" have obviously not played many detective games. If you're fresh off games like Obra Dinn, Golden Idol, Painscreek Killing, Unheard, etc. This game will not satisfy you. It's an interesting story with twists and turns but the gameplay itself is not very challenging. You can also beat it with all achievements in less than 3 hours. To be specific, I think showing images next to the text makes the game incredibly easy. You rarely need to figure out who said what based on context. Just look at the image and you can easily figure out who said it most of the time. Overall I liked it but I feel like reviews here are misleading. It's baby's first detective game with a fun-to-piece-together story.
