Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. MX Bikes wears its Racing, Sim, Sports influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — MX Bikes is a realistic motocross simulator, based on a scratch built physics — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Worth it, especially on sale.
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. MX Bikes leans hard into Racing, Sim, Sports, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — MX Bikes is a realistic motocross simulator, based on a scratch built physics — is delivered without too much filler. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
