Well, if you're into JRPGs, then you gotta try this one out
Well, if you're into JRPGs, then you gotta try this one out. Yes, it is pretty similar to Persona/SMT, same devs, after all. But Metaphor has lots of unique things under its belt as well, like party formations, archetypes being a lot more thought out mechanically than personas, real-time combat before the main turn-based one where you can stun the enemy. But the best thing about Metaphor is that you don't need to go to school, awesome.

It's essentially a Persona game set in a fantasy universe and one of the best games this year has to offer. Also the game works well on Steam Deck , just make sure to change rendering scale to 100% and Ambient Occlusion to off.

Still thinking about it
I went in to Metaphor knowing almost nothing about it, and ended up being surprised by a personal contender for game of the year. The game is beautiful, moving, and has a delightful cast of characters. The combat mechanics are also fantastic (I'm always a sucker for a FF3/5 style job system). This game recaptured a love for optimistic JRPGs that I haven't felt since playing Skies of Arcadia as a kid. 10/10, would highly recommend
