Exactly what I hoped for

Manifold Garden is similar to games like Antichamber and Superliminal in that it is a non-euclidean puzzle game with special attention towards foreign topologies. However, of the three titles I feel this is the inferior. It's lacking a certain "humanity" that the other two possess, Superliminal more directly with its premise and story, and Antichamber more obliquely by its allegory. Speaking of which, like the other two games, Manifold Garden is allegorical, though I'm not sure for what. This game has a unique treatment of infinity which I quite enjoyed. The spaces are expansive and awesome (in the formal sense). However, this use of space also made some puzzles frustrating by the time it took to reach some locations, possibly as a form of padding as the puzzles aren't too difficult once you wrap your head around the mechanics/physics at play. I would say I quite enjoyed the game, but I did find the ending slightly pretentious. It has just as much conceptual meat as Superliminal and Antichamber, but as I said, it's lacking in the human or philosophy department. Not a particularly thought provoking game, as the underlying theme seems to be either environmentalism or nth-dimensional transcendence (whatever that is). An aesthetic delight which doesn't overstay its welcome (which considering my hours played, should tell you something).
