Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- wears its Action, Adventure, RPG influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise (KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- is an HD remastered collection of 6) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. I will be back for another run.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- leans hard into Action, Adventure, RPG, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- is an HD remastered collection of 6) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. There is more content here than the price suggests. Worth it, especially on sale.
