I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. EA SPORTS FC 26 wears its Sports, Multiplayer, Sim influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — The world's game, updated for another season. — is delivered without too much filler. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Worth it, especially on sale.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. EA SPORTS FC 26 wears its Sports, Multiplayer, Sim influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — The world's game, updated for another season. — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Worth it, especially on sale.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. EA SPORTS FC 26 leans hard into Sports, Multiplayer, Sim, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — The world's game, updated for another season. — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
