I'm enjoying this game. It is slow at first but worth the investment. The combat system is really fun. English translation could use some work. I have played exclusively on the Steam Deck and it runs really well. Solid 60 FPS rendering at 1080p resolution in full screen with DX11.
Do not be put off by some of the animations and visuals, this game is a top tier hidden gem. A stunningly massive 2D action RPG spanning upwards of 70 hours. This is probably in my top 3 new releases I've played this year (Elden Ring and Crystal Project being the other 2). The game is not a true metroidvania in the traditional sense, so if you are looking for that style of game, this is not it. There is freedom to backtrack, but really required exactly. The story is very well written, and without giving too much away, is based around the theory of time-traveling and the consequences that come along with it. Think Chrono Trigger on steroids, or the TV show DARK. The combat systems are great as each piece of equipment can be "mastered" if you use it for a bit, unlocking passives for your character. There is a stat skill tree as well that is staggering in size that is almost a game within the game itself. Exploring the stat tree leads to hidden items and special abilties. There is a ton you can grind here and it's an absolute joy to do so as you are constantly unlocking things through the entire 70 hour journey. There are multiple difficulty options as well to make the game feel the way you want it to, A staggering amount of content, satisfying combat, deep character building systems, and a great story make this game well worth the small asking price. Do not dismiss this game based on the visuals and animation, this was a game 15 years in the making and you will be cheating yourself out of one of the best sleeper games of the year.
