About Afterimage

Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes the full game, digital artbook, and digital soundtrack. DISCORD. . About the Game. A great deity created the world named Engardin, leaving four goliaths before her departure. The Goliaths abided by their different divine callings and upheld the order and flow of this world. Hence, the lives in Engardin reincarnated and multiplied. Humans were the last creation, and their ever-expanding ambitions led to a protracted war against the Goliaths. Engardin was engulfed in flames, until a huge explosion known as "The Razing" devastated the Holy Grounds of mankind and brought a swift end to the conflict. But the divine order was broken, and lives withered away. The age of mankind came to an end. The survivors of the conflict scattered across Engardin. Severed from the Well of Mankind and unable to reincarnate, they banded together to form settlements. Years have passed since this great cataclysm, and the remaining human settlements have been suddenly assaulted by mystic forces. Renee, a young amnesiac girl and student of Aros, was the lone survivor of the attack on her village. Determined to recover her forgotten memories and locate her lost

Loved it, 100%ed it, but can only recommend it with a number of caveats

Loved it, 100%ed it, but can only recommend it with a number of caveats. - incomprehensible story, writing feels machine-translated despite the voice acting; - item pickups vanish into your inventory without an explanation, good luck finding what you just picked up; - very directionless, even for the standards of the genre; - the NPC quests actively suck, they're similar to Dark Souls in that NPCs just teleport all over the place and you're supposed to accidentally run into them... I just looked them up, no patience for this; - overall jank, both in programming and in art direction (some sprites clash a lot). That said: The movement and moment-to-moment gameplay is so much fun. If you're experienced with Metroidvanias, are somewhat tolerant towards jank, and are looking for another big one to sink your teeth into, this one's not a bad choice!

Frustrating more than fun

I love this game, ive followed the game since early development and ive played it about 5 times on different platforms (2 times on switch and 2 on mobile and 1 on pc) but i cannot recommend the pc version to anyone, some npcs like Emily and owl near the end of the game wont spawn and the quests for them cannot be progressed. Also i got the achievement that i reached level 99 and got all abilities but i never got all abilities . Honestly the pc version has bugs and i had to reset 2 times.
