Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Zero Hour leans hard into Action, Sim, Strategy, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (Zero Hour is a tactical FPS with online team-based game play that takes place) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. Worth it, especially on sale.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. The Action, Sim, Strategy mix is what kept me playing; Zero Hour knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Zero Hour is a tactical FPS with online team-based game play that takes place, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
