Not a bad game, just not one I can recommend without caveats
Not a bad game, just not one I can recommend without caveats. Yokai's Secret promises a lot with its Action, Cozy, RPG setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. The idea ("Yokai's secret" is a decrypt game with ecchi girls. The) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. It asks for a lot of grinding before the interesting parts show up. There is more content here than the price suggests. Not for everyone, and not for me.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. If Action, Cozy, RPG is your thing, Yokai's Secret delivers it without much filler. On paper it is "Yokai's secret" is a decrypt game with ecchi girls. The, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Worth it, especially on sale.
