War of Rights is a multiplayer game set during the perilous days of the American Civil War, in the Maryland Campaign of September, 1862. Campfire Games is devoted to presenting the gruesome and glorious elements of the period, while maintaining the highest level of historical accuracy and realism as is possible with the wonders of CRYENGINE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Massive battles: Take part in engagements consisting of 400 players.. . - Tailored for line formation teamplay: Custom formation buff mechanic system rewards sticking together by lessening the suppression effects, the morale cost for the team when dying and the flag bearer respawn rate. . . - Multiple army branches: Fall in on the line as an infantryman, saddle up with the cavalry to screen the army’s advance or shatter the fighting spirit of the enemy as an artillery crewman! . . - Historical accuracy: Period correct uniforms, weapons, manual of arms animations, battlefields, objectives & drill camps. - Regimental pride: 135 researched and recreated regiments & batteries all supporting uniforms for all ranks (Private to Colonel) and player classes. ⠀⠀ - Immersive communication: In-game 3D voice system. . . - Recreated battlefields
There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Fans of Action, MMO, Sim will recognise the pieces, though War of Rights never quite assembles them. The idea (War of Rights is a first person multiplayer game featuring massive 400 player) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. There is more content here than the price suggests. Try before you buy.
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. War of Rights leans hard into Action, MMO, Sim, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is War of Rights is a first person multiplayer game featuring massive 400 player, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Worth it, especially on sale.
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. The Action, MMO, Sim mix is what kept me playing; War of Rights knows what it wants to be. On paper it is War of Rights is a first person multiplayer game featuring massive 400 player, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. I will be back for another run.
