If you complete this game, you will have a deep understanding of how assembly, CPU instruction sets and basic components are related. And you will understand how programming concepts like if statements, loops and functions actually work in assembly and hardware. -= BUILD =-. The game is built on a powerful simulator, that gives you total freedom in how you solve levels or create your own computers. Wire up screens, timers, sound, keyboard input and network components to create whatever you want. You can even design a unique assembly language for your computer.

There is a good game buried in here somewhere
There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Turing Complete promises a lot with its Sim setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. What it promises (Learn CPU architecture with puzzles) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. There is more content here than the price suggests. Try before you buy.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. The Sim mix is what kept me playing; Turing Complete knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Learn CPU architecture with puzzles, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.
