Think this game looks great?

Think this game looks great? play the demo. You have now played 80% of the game, so don't bother buying it. Pros: -Demo has multiplayer -Multiplayer with friends is fun for a couple of hours Cons: -Repetitive gameplay loop -Monkeys break the balance of the game -Very limited options in all aspects of the game -Combat is boring, and using monkeys makes it super easy to steamroll through it -it is possible to streamroll through the whole content without too much effort -Once you have gone through one vault, you've basically gone through all of them Overall, the game has potential, but the lack of actual gameplay makes it feel like an early access game, rather than the finished version. This game is in no way worth 25$,; its worth no more than 10$.

Frustrating more than fun

The gameplay loop is fine and typical of a survival game but the crafting progression and the game as a whole feels very limited. The survival consists only of hunger (and thirst in some biomes apparently) which is satiated pretty easily and suits the casual atmosphere of the game. The Monkey system is a pretty creative solution to grinding out resources and building/crafting. However, after about 2 hours I had unlocked nearly every crafting blueprint and never had to leave the first island until I needed metal. With everything unlocked and no real need to set up a major main base (nor are there really any buildings that need a ton of resources which would necessitate a main base) I found the repetitive nature pretty underwhelming. Considering how little content there is and how essentially non-existent the "story" is, I feel no need to dive back in despite a pretty satisfying gameplay loop. It seems over priced - more like an Early Access release in terms of content. Maybe the updates they promise will flesh out more of what the game could be.

This is a super cute, should-be-fun take on a game like Stardew Valley, Terraria, etc

This is a super cute, should-be-fun take on a game like Stardew Valley, Terraria, etc. I love the concept so much. But the execution is horrible. NOTHING is intuitive (why do I have to equip my multi-tool every time I want to craft? If it's in my bag, it should craft). Why are there 2987592387434 buttons to do one task? Why do the monkeys constantly forget the tasks they were assigned? Why can't my co-op teammate use the mystery chest if I allow chest sharing? The tutorial is not very informative or helpful and there aren't many guides available for this game yet. It definitely feels like an early access game, so $25 for what feels like an unfinished game that lacks content feels like robbery. Really needs to work on quality of life updates (maybe upgrading inventory space at the mysterious stranger, sharing mystery chests, better tutorial) to be good at this price point.
