6About Sven Co-op
Sven Co-op is a co-operative game originally based around Valve Software's Half-Life. In this game players must work together against computer controlled enemies and solve puzzles as a team. While Sven Co-op is similar to Half-Life with similar weapons, monsters, and characters, the difficulty has been increased to suit team play. Sven Co-op's levels are set as missions and are generally separate from each other. Many missions span several maps and some are collected together in a series. The aim of most levels is to reach the end or to achieve an objective -- obtaining a high score is not essential to beat a level, it's just part of the fun.

To play with friends: Enable the console Start a server (with more than 1 player slot) Type commands sv_lan 0 and status find YOUR steam ID it should look something like "STEAM_1:1:12345678" Give that to your friend(s) and they type connect "your steam ID" To connect to a friends game then give them these instructions and tell them to follow them

In the 2000s, we would go to my friend's house and try to pass a level for hours. Of course, at that time there was internet, LAN game, where will you find it... He would watch me, I would watch him. Sven Coop is the most legendary game of our childhood. Some of my friends still ask me if I haven't gotten tired of it for 18 years. No, I can never forget this game, Sven Coop, which made me laugh, have fun and plenty of tension for hours with my friends at that time. Now it is on Steam. It is also a sign that many add-ons such as Workshop / SourceEngine etc. will come. If you are going to play for the first time, play without thinking. Play it once in your life.

A quiet favourite
Back in the days when I was a young stud with peaking testosterone levels and firm glutes, me and my friends were rocking this mod after high school. Please note that this was in an era where communication using smartphones was yet to be invented. Sven Co-op for us was what social media is now for the kids. Yes, although hard to imagine for youngsters nowadays, back then we also played outside at times, but when we had to be home in order to accomplish homework tasks, our only escape from this by society accepted torment was to play online multiplayer games with each other - most of them being first person shooters. Now, a decade later, Sven Co-op finally made it to Steam. But where are those friends now? Some of them have been lost in time, few I still play games with. But never Sven Co-op. Not Sven Co-op. Am I the only one stuck in time, thriving on nostalgia? I recently played again, after all those years. It's still great, but it's not the same anymore. Sven Co-op was part of a man's teen life. When you're reading this and playing Sven Co-op within one, perhaps several decades, remember that this is my legacy. Remember the sentiment this game has brought to a grown-up man yearning for his youth.
