Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Sunkenland wears its Action, Multiplayer, Co-op influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is Get ready for a Waterworld-themed survival game with modular base building, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The Action, Multiplayer, Co-op mix is what kept me playing; Sunkenland knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Get ready for a Waterworld-themed survival game with modular base building, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. If Action, Multiplayer, Co-op is your thing, Sunkenland delivers it without much filler. The pitch — Get ready for a Waterworld-themed survival game with modular base building — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Easy recommend at full price.
