I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Starfield wears its RPG, Adventure, Open World influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — Bethesda goes to the stars, a thousand planets at a time. — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.
