It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. Sea of Thieves leans hard into Adventure, Multiplayer, Co-op, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (The pirate sandbox where the stories make themselves.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The Adventure, Multiplayer, Co-op mix is what kept me playing; Sea of Thieves knows what it wants to be. The pitch — The pirate sandbox where the stories make themselves. — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. I will be back for another run.
