I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me
I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me. Fans of Action, Adventure, RPG will recognise the pieces, though Rising World never quite assembles them. What it promises (Rising World is a voxel based open-world sandbox game, featuring a procedurally) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Try before you buy.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. Rising World wears its Action, Adventure, RPG influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — Rising World is a voxel based open-world sandbox game, featuring a procedurally — is delivered without too much filler. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.
