This hurts to even write tbh. When this game launched on steam it was instantly one of my favorite games, and definitely my favorite BR. unfortunately this is the perfect example of what happens when devs think they are above listening to the community because "they know what is best". Mt. Dione was probably the greatest BR map just because of what it had to offer. There were 3 different ways to get around the map, climbing gear that allowed you to scale mountains and use ziplines all around the map, a glider that was mainly useful from higher altitudes, and a snowboard that was a lot of fun and added a fresh twist to an already fresh shooter. Then they decided to axe it all and create a new map, killing all the progress they made. Then they added ridiculous class upgrades, battle cars and tried to copy basically any gameplay mechanic from every game to keep it "interesting". When the community started dying and everyone screamed to bring Dione back so they could play again, all they did was create a new, even worse map. Now the community is gone and even if they did go back to square one, its probably too late to get everyone back. All they had to do was admit their mistakes and go back to Dione, or at the very least make a map rotation, but they refused and pretended what they were doing is "what the community asked for". They had a great thing going and they shot themselves in the foot, taking an extremely well polished game and threw it out for poorly optimized garbage. RIP to what could have been
