In 2003 I repainted all the DM textures for Quake 2 at 2x resolution for an engine mod called Quake2maX. 16 years pass and I see a video with those textures being used to showcase RTX. A few months later and my work ends up on Steam in the most roundabout way possible. Life is strange. Anyway, Quake 2 with RTX looks really nice. The textures I made help. The download is free so check it out for yourself!

Such a great way to re-experience one of the best shooters of all times. Make sure to play with full version. It also supports Linux! If you don't have a RTX supported GPU, you can switch to OpenGL based Q2PRO source port with following launch argument; +set vid_rtx 0
