6About PULSAR: Lost Colony
Team up to operate a starship and explore a randomized galaxy falling into chaos. Each player assumes a role aboard the ship: Captain, Pilot, Scientist, Weapons Specialist and Engineer. Coordination between your crewmembers is essential to survive the perils that await you. Control the various stations that run your ship. Reroute power between ship systems, operate turrets, run powerful programs, scan enemy vessels for information to give you an edge in battle, or start up the warp drive to escape a fight you cannot win. The strategies you use are up to you—or your Captain. Embark on missions, investigate abandoned stations, and scavenge for components that could aid you in your voyage. Teleport down to the surfaces of planets where you may face extreme environments and dangerous creatures. Trek across the galaxy, and discover what lies on its fringes. Online co-op multiplayer (1 - 5 players) . Offline / singleplayer mode . Customizable AI crew bots in online and offline mode . Five unique classes; everyone plays a role on the ship . Fast-paced and tactical ship-to-ship space combat . Teleport to other ships, planets or stations to join the away team . Loot planets and stations

So far, I have found this game to have more content than most AAA titles
So far, I have found this game to have more content than most AAA titles. If you have friends to play with and want feel like your a member of the enterprise then just buy it already. In the 30 or so hours that I've played so far, I've been killed by a guardian outside of the space and time; stopped an asteroid from destroying a planet by going inside of the asteroid and detonating my reactor, sold large amounts of biscuits to an alien brain; died to a ship with saw blades that rammed me repeatedly; killed several "bus-drivers" who control public transport, became a bounty hunter; became the target of numerous bounties myself; and ruined my faction rep so bad I had to restart as it turns out literally murdering and robbing every ship in the galaxy is highly frowned upon. This game is a gem. An absolute diamond in the rough with easily 100+ hours of gameplay due to the amount of sectors to discover and factions to try out. Most the the ships play immensely different and completely changes the experience every time. Replay Value on this game is pretty big due to the rogue-like nature and more updates are coming. I wish Leafy Games all the best as I will be following this game as long as my "Sectors Discovered" stays below 99%. Please keep adding more, I'm at 33% so far :) Also it was made by 3 people. The Devs all deserve a pat on the back for what they have pulled off for such a small team.

The roles in Pulsar explained:
The roles in Pulsar explained: Pilot: shout at the engineer to give you more power, get shouted by the weapons officer for a firing solution, practice your "ooops" every time you crash into stuff, die suddently because the entire ship is on fire and you were focusing on the external camera Scientist: you never have enough power for anything because everyone thinks you're useless, except when the ship is swarmed by viruses and/or they need urgent healing. It's like IT, you are only ever acknowledged when something goes wrong Weapons officer: cackle maniacally and shout at the pilot and constantly annoy the captain for permission to launch the nuke. Spend all the crew money and scrap on gun upgrades because "the dps was higher" Engineer: everyone constantly shouts at you for more power. But you know, you know the reactor is literally on the brink of meltdown. Even a single extra watt and you're all toast. You're always on fire. Everything is always on fire. Oh gods why is everything, even when everyone thinks nothing's wrong, always constantly on the brink of destruction? Nobody will ever understand just how close the ship is to exploding, all the time Captain: somehow you need to be able to shout more loudly than a herd of cats on crack, but it doesn't matter because they don't follow you anyway. Except when you put a cap on pocket money, then the weapons officer will constantly ask for juuuust a bit more.
