Exactly what I hoped for
The game died because the company could not support server costs and its a damn shame because it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast. Why this game died and Dungeon Defenders II lives is a mystery to me. Please re-release the game with Peer to Peer networking and I will pay $$

Choose from one of your heroes and place traps at various locations
Choose from one of your heroes and place traps at various locations. Then slaughter the hordes of filthy minions that try to reach the portal. If too many of them reach the portal you lose. Team up with up to 2 other players. There are also other game modes, that involve PvP, solo, PvE and weekly challenges. You get chests from beating missions which let you unlock new traps and traits. Overall its a fun game with some strategy needed in where to place which traps, and barricades which redirect the enemy. It's free to play, pay to win, or at least pay to not grind endlessly on missions you cant win with pugs without the gear you only get when you win. Oh but wait there's more, you do keep levelling up, so it gets harder, even though you still dont have the gear. Hence why I label it pay to win. Enemies seem to scale with your character level so even trying to grind on easy maps gets unproductive after a point. Rewards for winning also scale with your level, so the easy maps quickly stop paying out even for victories.It's a fairly hefty download, but its a fun game if you like first person tower defence. It's good for a couple hours anyway.

Frustrating more than fun
Bruh if your are ganna shut the servers down at least add a single player / offline mode to the danm game or hell even add the ability to host a server for just yourself and friends. The game was fun to play with friends. im actually a bit salty that i cant play it now and i aint ganna fork out another $40 just to play the next one
