A friend recommended it and I owe them one. The Action, Cozy, Sim mix is what kept me playing; Operation: Harsh Doorstop knows what it wants to be. The pitch — Operation: Harsh Doorstop is the ultimate, free to play, tactical shooter — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Operation: Harsh Doorstop wears its Action, Cozy, Sim influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise (Operation: Harsh Doorstop is the ultimate, free to play, tactical shooter) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Easy recommend at full price.
