This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Night of the Dead wears its Action, Adventure, RPG influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise ('Night of the Dead' is an open-world game that combines elements of) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Worth it, especially on sale.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. If Action, Adventure, RPG is your thing, Night of the Dead delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise ('Night of the Dead' is an open-world game that combines elements of) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. I will be back for another run.
