I just finished The End, so the playtime you see is how long it took me. The run wasn't "optimal", but sped up in that a guide was used and some money spent. It's the best "idle" "game" I've ever "played", although all of those words are wrong. It's like owning a garden. You don't "play" a garden. You have daily tasks like weeding, watering, tending and harvesting and while there's some enjoyment to be had in these things, the real payoff is when you leave and later return to find interesting things have happened and new things need doing. NGU has been part of my life for well over a year. My morning ritual was waking up early and tend to it before leaving for work. At night I came home to review the results. Rinse and repeat. Now I feel like I finished a good book. A little sad and feeling like I just said goodbye to an old friend. I will miss it now that it's over. In the end, this silly bit of nonsense took my time and in exchange gave me enjoyment from watching it's numbers go up, and the comfort that comes from following a steady, faithful daily routine. I hope it does the same for you.
Look. This game has no delusions of grandeur that other idle games seem to have with their ad campaigns, crossover events, and what have you. NGU Idle knows exactly what it is. You're here to watch Numbers Go Up. You're here to click a thing sometimes to make the Numbers Go Up faster. You get more Numbers that make the other Numbers Go Up faster then you make those Numbers Go Up. Maybe you want something to run in the background while you do a thing and see how big the numbers are when you're done. Maybe you're burnt out and need something to focus on that requires microscopic levels of effort. Whatever brings you here, there's certainly Numbers. And they Go Up.
Finally Freeeeee! Game open for 2.8 yrs. It's been a wild ride and an awesome one at that. Something to always look forward to when life was crazy but I wanted to see my numbers go up in at least one game.
