I played this game a lot, 5,474 hrs on steam, but actually way more since I played from launch. The game became progressively worse over time for the f2p crowd and is solidly a p2w game. Everything is behind a paywall or the worst grind ever. I was not f2p I dumped money into this game! If you were fortunate to take advantage of the many glitches over the years that netted massive amounts of in game currency (astral diamonds) you would be set for life. The graphics are nice. The combat system and even pvp were once fun as was playing with some good friends. The most disappointing thing was realizing how much time I wasted playing this game trying to stay maxed update after update of the developers wrecking character mechanics and gear. Stay away, stay far away.
sometimes it is hard to know what to do, where to start, what limits there are until you are a certain level. That could be because I have not played MMORPG games very much in the past. But I played through and now am really enjoying the game. I like the challenges and the surprise rewards. I get caught up in the quest and hours go by as I try to complete it. I am 63 and actually new to the gaming world. Retirement has perks!
I think you can tell that I spent a great deal of time in this game. It was one of the most enjoyable games I had the pleasure of playing until it became all about the money. Vast, sweeping changes happened very quickly that took every opportunity away from those of us who had spent thousands of hours working on ways to make a meager existance in the game without having to spend any real money. They created the boogeyman of "bots" and used that to 'crack down of all of the cheaters in the game". Those of us who had built up and trained our artisans to make things to sell for currency in the game were all removed and nothing was put in their place and left us with many (now worthless) workers. All of the dailies and weeklies that could make us a little cash were all changed as well. Now it's the almighty dollar that rules the game and that's fine, but don't advertise it as FTP when you've ruined it for the folks without wads of cash. Don't waste your time unless you have 100's and I mean hundreds of dollars to spend. Breaks my heart to post this but I hope I'm saving a bunch of you a whole lot of time and effort.
