I played this game years ago on my IPod Touch 5th Gen and absolutely loved the game. The art style is so simple but cute, vibrant colours and the best part about it, the the music and sounds. Obviously the puzzles are very fun and well thought out and can keep you scratching your head for a good minute to figure out what you gotta do. I'm so happy to see this game to come to PC and in their best editions so you get all DLC, The controls were really nothing you could've messed up so happy to see it all works great with a mouse. I hope Both games will reach out to more people that missed it when it first came out or just to people that like chill puzzle games in general.
Delightful, magical, enchanting, engaging are words that spring to my mind to describe Monument Valley. Unlike many other reviewers, I hadn't played this on mobile, and it has ported extremely well. You play as Ida, a princess, who embarks on a journey of forgiveness. You need to avoid the crow people who try to intimidate her and stop her on her quest. Along the way Ida meets a charming friend who helps her to keep going. Very cute as you can see a bond developing. The graphics are simple, colourful and clear as Ida tries to get from A to B in her quest. The world looks simply impossible and reminds me of M.C Escher and his paintings. Optical illusions abound as you manipulate the monuments and environment to get Ida to her destination safely. It is quite fun to twist and turn things as Ida often defies gravity in her determination to reach her goal. The puzzles are medium level difficulty, but still managed to get my old brain cells to melt a few times. As one reviewer said 'My brain hurts'! The game has 3 parts to it. The main game consisting of 10 levels, the DLC has another 8 levels and a standalone section called 'Ida's Dream'. The latter two had the harder and longer puzzles. Each individual puzzle has 3-4 parts to it. The background music is calm and gentle which reflects ambience of this entire game. A great game which you can dip in and out of, so perfect for those who can't play for hours on end. The mechanics of game play are simple and easy to pick up. Children can play this as it is non violent. As well as atonement, this is also a charming story about friendship and is bug free. Highly recommend for all ages. But be aware that this is not The Room sort of game. I simply loved it!! 10/10 Now onto the second game!
