A warning to new players: SELECT "OPERATIONS" TO START THE MAIN CAMPAIGN! Main menu gives you two options, 'Start Game' which describes the "Earth's mightiest heroes have assembled to defeat AIM...". The middle option is 'Operations' which has the description "Reunite the Avengers in the Reassemble campaign...". If you select 'Start Game' you will see a story spoiling recap. How is anyone meant to know the option NOT called 'Start Game' which uses words like "reunite" and "reassemble" is the FIRST campaign you're meant to start with? This is UX so horrible it almost feels deliberate to get you into the post game micro transaction crap. Disgusting.
Its like picking up a really nice looking banana, peeling it back, and taking nice big bite just to realize that its not ripe enough to eat. This game needs a lot of patches, time and content my friends.
I can compare this to two games released by EA, BFV and Anthem. Full priced beta with big promises, we're talking T-posing, falling through the floor. No sound. Multiplayer scaling which reduces all your stats to 1 making you very weak. Rapid crashes from 10 minutes and upwards. Very lacking in multiplayer, endgame content at the moment is singleplayer only. Weekly rotated shop with parts of the game cut out of it and re-sold to you for premium currency. Gear with very forgettable names and stats. Anthem mostly but BFV is guilty of this aswell. Anthem stopped support 13 months after release. BFV denied support after 17 months after release. If this game is following in those games footsteps, CD will be ending support for this in around 2021 third or fourth quarter and not in "multiple years". Crystal Dynamics Head of Studio, Scot Amos has blamed Covid and Wildfires for the state of the game, and reassured us that updates are coming. Something both BFV and Anthem also did.
