Magicka is a satirical action-adventure game set in a rich fantasy world based on Norse mythology. The player assumes the role of a wizard from a sacred order tasked with stopping an evil sorcerer who has thrown the world into turmoil, his foul creations besieging the forces of good. Players will be able to combine the elements to cast spells, wreaking havoc and devastation on the minions of darkness. They will also be able to team up with friends and fight their way through the campaign, or test their skills in the magickal arts through other challenging modes. In Magicka, up to four players take on a grand adventure to save their world from certain doom using a fully dynamic spell system. The adventure mode takes the players across three different levels, ranging from the lush forests of mountain valleys to the frozen halls of the Mountain King where wits and creative thinking are the keys to victory. In the unlockable hardcore challenge mode, players fight off waves of enemies to earn their place on local and online leaderboards. Main Features:. Innovative and dynamic spell casting system . When you start Magicka you don't know what you're up to
When you start Magicka you don't know what you're up to. Cast your first spell, destroy something, kill yourself, burn down a house, melt cheese or just grill some sausages. This big adventure will require skills to learn to cast spells as fast as you can. This is only way to survive sometimes. On top of that you'd rather be smart to find the weak points of many different foes who will come across your journey. Having troubles passing through an area? Just call some friends and they will help you in a fight or just cast the wrong spell on you :p. Well Magicka is a unique game without vampires ;-). I recommend that you also read the e-book : The Ninth Element. It is well written and fully in sync with the humour of the game. Some DLCs will give you a very hard time to defeat the bosses but that's where you should call your friends for online adventure.

READ ALL BEFORE BUYING I don't normally review, but unfortunately due to abandonment after the last major update, there were no bug fixes. THE BUGS INTRODUCED ARE MAJOR. The game is close to not playable on multiplayer. HOWEVER!!! THERE IS A FIX. There is a man (bless his SOUL) who literally made a patch that fixes all of the game breaking bugs. It is really worth it. The fix is on Github, under the user "pj12345678" and the title is "MagickaFix." It only involves some file replacements, and shouldnt take more than 10 minutes. This game is incredible, and is 100% one of the multiplayer games everyone should play. Don't give up on it and try it with the patch. You won't be disappointing. o7

Frustrating more than fun
While the combination of magic is plenty and could be fun at times, the stability of this game is ridiculously bad. Every hour you can encounter multiple times of crash, freeze and other sorts of issues which prevent from playing the game normally. In the main campaign, there are still frequent checkpoints and easy battles so still bearable. The DLCs, especially dungeon and daemons and dungeon and gargoyles are complete nightmares. Whenever the crash / freeze happens, you have to restart from the start of the DLC campaign. Main campaign achievements are not that hard, but there are five multiplayer achievements. DLC achievements are hard. especially those no death and hard difficulty ones. Combining with the stability issues, they are torturing and an unnecessary test to the patience. The developers are worse than terrible for leaving the game in this state for so long and have no intention to fix it. Any other games from this group of developers will be an automatic NO for me.
