There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Labyrinthine promises a lot with its Action, Adventure, Multiplayer setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. What it promises (A co-op horror game like no other... Play with 1-8 players online as you solve) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Not for everyone, and not for me.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Labyrinthine leans hard into Action, Adventure, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — A co-op horror game like no other... Play with 1-8 players online as you solve — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. I will be back for another run.
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. The Action, Adventure, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Labyrinthine knows what it wants to be. The pitch — A co-op horror game like no other... Play with 1-8 players online as you solve — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Easy recommend at full price.
