Step 1: Buy the game Step 2: Buy a case of beer Step 3: Play the game, drink some beer, groove to the music, get sucked into the story. Step 4: Great way to spend a Friday night. If you are a fan of Firewatch, The Suicide of Rachel Foster, or any narrative game you can lose yourself in for an evening... Pick this up. Best $20 bucks I've spent on Steam in a long time. Playtime for me (an inquisitive player) was 6.2 hours.
I'm an actual IRL Radio Personality that has worked in small/medium/large markets with 3 decades of experience. (And I'll say I recommend this game, it's a blast) I'll focus on the small market because holy moly this hit really close to home. Few of the misses: Small town late night show wouldn't have a 2 person crew, it'd be the DJ only to save $$$. Also, knowing "about 35 listeners" would be pretty rare, didn't seem like they had competition so odds are they wouldn't be paying for the analytics with no local competition... but this is nitpicking no big deals. Wondering where a few folks got their phones to call in, especially in the Maize Maze. I've had businesses just like Ponty... and have taken some of the weirdest phone calls so this was spot on. I'm happy there wasn't a specific state this was located in, I had Ohio/Illinois/Indiana vibes but those call letters would've started with a W instead of a K. (East v West of Mississippi...weird fun fact for y'all) There's a few other bits I'd nitpick but it's a video game, and a fun one at that. Fun story, great horror references. The puzzles are a hoot...also I'm amazed how well a video game actually uses real First Aid information and not the usual flubbing that games do. Lot of love went into this game. The fact you can save/lose everybody is fantastic, love that it is not just a hard game over, and thank you save states! Only a few timer/quick moments really helps as well, and jumpscares are at a minimum! Love it. Is my type up of this all over the place? Yes. Should I re-do it? Probably. Am I going to? Nah. Just pick the game up. It's great.
