I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me
I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me. HARD BULLET promises a lot with its Action, Adventure, Sim setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. The idea (HARD BULLET is a physics-based action game, where enemies flood the neon-lit) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Try before you buy.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. If Action, Adventure, Sim is your thing, HARD BULLET delivers it without much filler. On paper it is HARD BULLET is a physics-based action game, where enemies flood the neon-lit, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. I will be back for another run.
