I would give this a 'mixed' review
I would give this a 'mixed' review. If the price was lower I would give it a positive review. If you don't own Far Cry 5, you really should buy that instead because it has a much better price-to-content ratio even at full price. Or even better get it on sale. Note currently FC5 is 90AUD & FCND is 68AUD Waaay too expensive for what is essentially a Far Cry 5 mod - same graphics with new textures, same map only smaller, many of the same characters, very limited story content. This game has a concerning amount of repeatable missions/tasks in lieu of proper crafted story missions as well - I hope this doesn't become the norm to pad out the game. And many of the side-story missions you do get are basically 'defend the thing' or 'kill all enemies' and take about 5 minutes. I would have liked to see them take the post-apocalypse theme further in terms of gameplay, because currently this is just literally normal guns with alternate skins, there's extremely little new or different here vs FC5 once you ignore the new art style. (I know this is meant to be a quick & easy 'Far Cry 5.5' game but if you give it a big price tag I'm going to judge it like its a full instalment in the franchise)

Wait for a sale
For a fully priced game advertised as a sequel to Farcry 5, New Dawn feels like a bait and switch, it's absolutely more appropriate as an expansion. After the disasterous DLC packages for Farcry 5 it's also kind of insulting for the price. New Dawn is literally a 1/3 piece of Far cry 5's map with some new objects and retextured locations, guns are 'DIY' style reskins and overall the game is the same with some half-assed enemy scaling and palette swaps. I would recommend at the $25 mark as a sort of FC5 epilogue, but this feels like content intended for the FC5 season pass thats been repackaged.

But we excepted more, The story was so simple and didn't have anything special in its sleeves, it wasn't so fine by me, If you are a Farcry fan and have played other games of this franchise you must know that Farcry games are known by their weird story! especially in Farcry 3. But as I said before it's just a spin-off and it only tries to complete the uncompleted things on Farcry 5. So we're not gonna take it seriously. Good to experience it as an one-time experience game.
