I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Fallen Aces wears its Action influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is The A.C.E.S. Once the watchful guardians of Switchblade City - are being taken, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. There is more content here than the price suggests. I will be back for another run.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Action mix is what kept me playing; Fallen Aces knows what it wants to be. The pitch — The A.C.E.S. Once the watchful guardians of Switchblade City - are being taken — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
